Kabetogama/Ash River Area Fishing Report

Contest Specifics:

1)      Seasonal Contest Dates May 9 – August 17, 2009

2)      Weekly Contests run from Tuesday – Monday 5pm

3)      Weekly winners will be posted @ Gateway General on Thursdays on www.voyageurscountry.com & in the Voyageur Sentinel on Saturdays.

Custom hats will be awarded to 1^st place in each species category at Gateway.

4)      Seasonal winners will be announced on 104.1 live radio broadcast on August 21st.

a)      Plaques for Trophy Fish Winners for the 2009 season.

b)      Drawings for Gift Certificates or Prizes from All  Junior Weekly Winners

c)      Drawings for Merchandise and Local Gift Certificates from all pictures (Fish pictures or other Fun Activities) submitted to Gateway.

Contest Qualifications:

1)      Fish must be caught in Kabetogama, Ash River or Namakan

2)      Lengths=Weights from the MN DNR Regulation Book.

Walleyes >  20” or  3 lbs.

Northerns > 30” or 6.4 lbs.

Small Mouth Bass > 15” or 2.1 lbs.

3)      Fish caught & kept must be weighed & registered at Gateway General during business hours (6am-10pm).

4)      Fish caught & released must be measured, witnessed & a picture submitted to Gateway General. Released Fish will be submitted in the contest during the week the picture is submitted, though all statistics must be submitted at the time of catch and release.

5)      All pictures submitted (Fish, wildlife, scenery, fun activities, etc) will be entered in the drawings at the end of the season finale’. Pictures will be posted at Gateway and on the website.
